Student Resources & New Member Info

Welcome to the Student Resources page, where you can access information about your membership at The Dojo of Karate, including Karate curriculum.

Below is a list…

Policies, Procedures and Dojo Etiquette

We want to make sure The Dojo of Karate is as transparent as possible, which is why we created these polices, procedures and etiquettes.

Please follow them accordingly.

School Closures

We want to stay open as much as possible, so students can benefit from training in the martial arts at The Dojo of Karate.  However, as the sole instructor, Sensei Lozano also needs to take some time off.

Please mark these in your calendar.

Getting Started In Karate

Here, you’ll learn how to count in Japanese, learn our Student Creeds, and start living the Black Belt Principles — all foundational to becoming a core member of The Dojo of Karate.

Training Equipment & Sparring Rules

Just like any sport, you need training equipment.  Without equipment, you won’t be able to take full advantage of your martial arts training.  Plus, we want to make sure you clearly understand the rules to sparring once you have become an Orange Belt.

Belt Promotions and Requirements

Here, you’ll learn how often you test for a new belt rank, what the stripes mean on your belt, and the minimum training requirement you’ll need to know before testing for each belt rank.

Just like college, our training guidelines are in place for a reason.  We want to make sure you meets or exceeds the necessary requirements, in order to become the best Black Belt you can be.

Achieving A Black Belt… and Beyond

When you join The Dojo of Karate, your goal should be to obtain a Black Belt, since we are a Black Belt School.  With that said, we’ve created two clubs that help students to achieve their martial arts training goal of getting a Black Belt (Black Belt Club) and those that desire to go beyond Black Belt (Elite Club).

Other Stuff

We like to host Birthday parties for students and non-students of The Dojo of Karate.  If you’ve got a Birthday coming up, let us know!

And, as any “home grown” business we really look forward to getting referrals from our members, which is why we’ve created a referral program.

Frequently Asked Questions

You’re gonna always have questions when you join The Dojo of Karate, which is why we’ve taken some of the most commonly asked questions and placed them here.
